MCL Acceleration Application

Please fill out the Google form to indicate your intent to accelerate through a language level. 

All students requesting language acceleration must submit the Application for Acceleration no later than 11:59pm on Thursday, March 6th, 2025.

For MAY exam date (AP only): For acceleration into the AP course, you must have completed all the requirements below IN ADVANCE before submitting this form. 

  • I have received a grade of "A" in Level IV - S1 and Q3 grades (May exam).
  • I have spoken to my current teacher about this choice and have received their recommendation.
  • I have considered the rigor of all my classes, school commitments and outside of school responsibilities and feel that this is the right fit for me.
  • I have spoken with my parents about my desire to accelerate into AP and they approve.
  • I understand that I need to take an "Acceleration Test" on TUESDAY, May 20, and THURSDAY, May 22, 2025 (accelerating into AP only; make sure to check with your teachers about the placement time and location) and successful completion as determined by the department of MCL. 

For AUGUST exam date: For acceleration into any course, the requirements are listed below:

  • I have received a grade of "A" in my current level - S1 and so far in Q3 (August exam).
  • I have spoken to my current teacher about this choice and have received their recommendation.
  • I have considered the rigor of all my classes, school commitments and outside of school responsibilities and feel that this is the right fit for me.
  • I have spoken with my dean about my desire to accelerate and my dean approves.
  • I have spoken with my parents about my desire to accelerate and they approve.
  • I understand that I need to take an "Acceleration Test" on MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2025 at 1:00PM  (all level; NO acceleration into AP) and successful completion as determined by the department of MCL.
  • I understand that I need to participate in a qualifying summer experience. (For example: a four-week summer intensive language program) In the next box, please describe your plan.
